QuoteIQ for Electricians: Fit, Features and Pricing
QuoteIQ grew up quoting exterior jobs, but it now has a full electrical page and a separate EV charger page. Here is what those pages claim, what an electrical shop actually uses day to day, and where the fit gets thin.

A reasonable pick for residential electricians with one to ten people who sell service calls, panel upgrades and EV chargers and want quotes, payments and call answering in one app. Shops that need a deep electrical price book, load calculations or big commercial bids should look harder at alternatives.

What QuoteIQ says for electricians
QuoteIQ runs two electrician pages, and they are not equal. The newer electrical contractor page (published April 2026, updated October 2026) is the one to read. It pitches AI Estimator line items built from photos, the Virtual Call Team answering calls while you are in an attic, Job Costing, EmployeeHub GPS, and QuoteIQ Cam that, in its words, “documents every panel”. It also pushes Consumer Financing for “$2,000+ upgrades” and cites BLS job-growth figures and the NEC (NFPA 70).
The older electrician-software page is a generic template. It mentions no electrical templates, permits or panel calculations, shows outdated prices and even talks about “power washer quotes”. Ignore it.
The EV charger installation page is more specific. It describes tiered templates (Simple $500–$800, Medium $800–$1,500, Long Run $1,500–$3,000+, Panel Upgrade $500–$5,000), NEC Article 625 scope notes, IRS Form 8911 tax-credit paperwork, load-calculation worksheets and permit fees of $50–$300. Treat those ranges as QuoteIQ's marketing content, not a verified built-in price book.
Features that matter most for an electrical shop
AI Estimator
Describe the job or attach up to five photos and it drafts line items with confidence scores. Useful for service calls with many small parts. See our AI Estimator review.
Options estimates
Good / Better / Best on one quote suits panel upgrades and charger installs where the customer picks amperage or wire run. Every plan.
Financing at checkout
Affirm, Klarna and Afterpay through checkout on every plan, which helps on service upgrades. Details in invoicing and payments.
Call answering
The AI receptionist picks up while your hands are in a panel. It runs on IQ Credits; read our Virtual Call Team page before relying on it.
Job Costing and QuickBooks Online both start on Pro; see job costing and timesheets and the QuickBooks integration. Satellite measuring (MapMeasure Pro) matters little for most interior electrical work, so don't upgrade for it. Our longer walkthrough is AI estimating and scheduling for electrical contractors.
Which plan to pick by crew size
| Crew | Plan | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Solo electrician | Essentials, $29.99/mo | Estimates, invoicing, payments, financing and the AI receptionist. No QuickBooks or job costing. |
| 2 people | Beginner, $99.99/mo | Adds QuoteIQ Cam for panel photos and inspection forms, plus Google Calendar sync. |
| 3–4 people | Pro, $199.99/mo | Job Costing, QuickBooks Online, business number with calling and texting, client portal. |
| 5–10 people | Elite, $299.99/mo | Truck inventory, GPS time tracking, route optimization, automated review requests. |
Extra users cost $25/user/mo on any plan. Full numbers are on our QuoteIQ pricing page.
Gaps electricians should know about
- Tiered quotes for upgrades and chargers on every plan
- Financing on every plan, not an add-on
- Photo documentation of panels from Beginner
- Published prices, so you can budget before a sales call
- No load-calculation or permit tool we can verify inside the app
- Truck inventory only from Elite ($299.99)
- Phone GPS only, no vehicle tracking hardware
- No payroll; QuickBooks Desktop not supported
- Automated review requests start on Elite, even though the old page implies every invoice
The AI receptionist is billed in IQ Credits at 125 credits per minute, and QuoteIQ's help center also lists a $1.25 base fee per call. A busy service line can drain a monthly allowance quickly; our IQ Credits guide does the math.
Alternatives worth a look
Larger electrical contractors with memberships, a dispatch board and office staff should compare QuoteIQ vs ServiceTitan; QuoteIQ itself concedes enterprise reporting to ServiceTitan. Shops that want online booking at a lower tier should read QuoteIQ vs Housecall Pro, and phone-heavy service shops QuoteIQ vs Workiz.
Electricians: common questions
Does QuoteIQ have electrical price books or templates?
QuoteIQ's electrical and EV charger pages describe templates and price ranges, such as EV installs from $500 to $3,000 plus. We could not confirm a downloadable electrical price book. You build your own saved services in the price book, and the AI Estimator drafts line items you then edit. Plan on an afternoon of setup.
Which QuoteIQ plan suits a small electrical contractor?
A solo electrician can start on Essentials at $29.99 a month. Once you have a helper or want QuickBooks Online and job costing, Pro at $199.99 for four users is the sensible tier. Elite at $299.99 only pays off if you need truck inventory, GPS time tracking or automated review requests.
Can QuoteIQ handle EV charger quotes?
Yes, as ordinary estimates. The Options format lets you show tiers such as a simple install, a long wire run and a panel upgrade on one quote, and the customer signs the tier they want. QuoteIQ's EV page also mentions tax-credit and permit paperwork, which you would attach as documents or notes.
Is the AI receptionist worth it for electricians?
It can catch calls you miss on a job, but it is metered. Calls use 125 IQ Credits a minute, and the help center lists a $1.25 base fee per call. Essentials includes 500 credits a month, roughly four minutes. Test it during the trial with your real call volume before counting on it.
Does QuoteIQ integrate with QuickBooks for electricians?
QuoteIQ syncs invoices, payments and customers to QuickBooks Online from the Pro plan up. QuickBooks Desktop is not supported, which matters for some older electrical shops whose bookkeepers still run Desktop. If that is you, check with your accountant before signing up.
