QuoteIQ InstaQuote: Customer Self-Quoting, Reviewed
InstaQuote puts a quote form on your website: the customer picks services, answers your questions and gets a priced quote with your deposit on it, without a phone call. It's one of QuoteIQ's more distinctive tools, and it's locked to the Elite plan.
Heads up: we're an independent QuoteIQ affiliate. If you start a subscription through our links we earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We're not affiliated with QuoteIQ. How this site works.
Powerful for standardised, repeatable services; expensive to unlock. InstaQuote needs Elite at $299.99/mo, which is also where online booking, routing and automated review requests start. It works best for services you can price from a few answers and a measurement, such as mowing, washing or cleaning. Custom, judgment-heavy jobs still need a person.

What InstaQuote does
InstaQuote is a self-service quote form. You set up the services you want to sell online and the questions each one needs answered, plus your pricing rules. A visitor works through the form and gets a priced quote on the spot, including the deposit you require. Where you allow it, customers can measure their own lawn by outlining it on a satellite map, and that outline attaches to the estimate.
From there it hands off to InstaSchedule, QuoteIQ's customer self-booking tool, and to online payment. Each lead is tagged with its lead source, so you can see whether it came from the website, a shared link or a QR code.
Pricing rules you can set
- Zip-code pricing to charge differently by area.
- Travel fees for addresses further out.
- Discount codes for promotions.
- A pricing matrix for services priced on more than one variable.
- Deposits shown on the quote.
You can share the form as a link, embed it on your website or print it as a QR code for door hangers, yard signs and truck wraps.
Which plan includes it
| Plan | Monthly | InstaQuote | InstaSchedule booking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $29.99 | No | No |
| Beginner | $99.99 | No | No |
| Pro | $199.99 | No | No |
| Elite | $299.99 (10 users) | Yes | Yes |
| Max | $699.99 (20 users) | Yes | Yes |
QuoteIQ's help-center matrix puts both InstaQuote and InstaSchedule on Elite and up. Elite also brings route optimization, inventory, mass campaigns, automated review requests and EmployeeHub, so if you'd use several of those, the price is easier to justify. If online quoting is the only reason, it's a big jump from Pro.
Credit costs
QuoteIQ doesn't list InstaQuote itself among its credit-charged actions. The customer satellite measuring isn't listed either. If you also send proposals, Elite and Max include them without the 100-credit charge that applies on lower plans. Check the credit cost shown in the app for anything AI-assisted.
How a contractor uses it day to day
The setup work is up front: deciding which services are simple enough to price without a visit, writing the questions that separate a small job from a big one, and setting zip-code and travel rules so far-off jobs aren't underpriced. Once it's live, a typical flow is that a homeowner finds you, measures their lawn or picks a house-wash package, sees the price, pays the deposit and books a slot. Your job is then reviewing new bookings rather than calling every lead back.
Many shops keep a "request a custom quote" option alongside it for the jobs that don't fit a form. Lead-source tags help you see which signs, links or pages are producing booked work.
Limits and gotchas
- Customers get a real price without a call
- Zip-code pricing, travel fees and discount codes
- Customer satellite measuring for area-based jobs
- Flows into booking and payment
- Needs Elite at $299.99/mo
- Only suits services you can price from a form
- Customer-drawn measurements may need checking
- Setup takes thought before it's useful
A customer tracing their own lawn won't always be careful, so build in a review step or a clause allowing adjustment after a site check. And if your work varies a lot job to job, a fast human quote using the AI Estimator may serve you better than a form.
How it compares with Jobber and Housecall Pro
This is one area where QuoteIQ's own comparison pages concede ground. On its Jobber page, QuoteIQ admits that for InstaQuote versus Jobber Connect at five users, "Jobber is $100.99/month lower for this selection." On Housecall Pro, QuoteIQ says HCP "still wins on $59 online booking" and calls the Elite requirement for InstaSchedule "Housecall Pro's single strongest structural advantage". Housecall Pro's pricing page lists online booking on its Basic plan ($79 monthly, $59 annual). Whether either competitor offers customer self-quoting with satellite measuring specifically isn't in our research, so check Jobber and Housecall Pro directly.

InstaQuote questions
Which plan do I need for InstaQuote?
InstaQuote is on QuoteIQ's Elite plan at $299.99/mo for ten users, and on Max. It isn't available on Essentials, Beginner or Pro. InstaSchedule, the customer self-booking tool InstaQuote hands off to, follows the same Elite-and-up rule in QuoteIQ's help-center plan matrix.
Can customers measure their own property with InstaQuote?
Yes, when you allow it. Customers can outline an area such as a lawn on a satellite map, and that outline attaches to the estimate. It's handy for area-priced services, but customers aren't trained estimators, so it's sensible to keep the right to adjust the price after a site check.
Can InstaQuote charge different prices by area?
Yes. QuoteIQ lists zip-code pricing, a travel fee, discount codes and a pricing matrix as InstaQuote options. That lets you charge more for distant addresses or set different rates by neighbourhood, and run promotions with codes. The quote can also show the deposit you require before booking.
Is InstaQuote cheaper than online booking on Jobber or Housecall Pro?
Not on QuoteIQ's own numbers. Its Jobber comparison concedes Jobber Connect is $100.99/mo lower for that selection at five users, and its Housecall Pro page concedes HCP wins on $59 online booking. QuoteIQ's case is that Elite bundles other tools; whether that's worth it depends on what else you'd use.
Do customers pay when they accept an InstaQuote?
InstaQuote hands off to InstaSchedule booking and online payment, and the quote can include your deposit. Payment processing fees aren't published by QuoteIQ and are separate from the subscription, so check the rates in your payment settings during the trial before relying on online deposits.
