QuoteIQ Route Optimization: What You Get on Elite

QuoteIQ's route optimization takes a day's stops and reorders them into a shorter drive, showing the miles saved. It comes with route density zones for planning service days by area and ties into the Atlas map. All of it starts on the Elite plan.

Short answer

Useful for route-based crews, but only from $299.99/mo. If you run recurring stops such as mowing, cleaning or pool service, Elite's routing and density zones make sense. If you'd only buy Elite for routing, cheaper tools publish routing on lower tiers. Note that QuoteIQ says routing has no extra cost, while its help center says in-calendar optimization uses credits per leg.

What route optimization does

QuoteIQ calls it "Route The Day", part of its Atlas tools. You open a rep's or crew's day and the feature orders the stops into the most efficient path, then shows how many miles the new order saves. It works from the scheduled jobs already on the calendar, so there's no separate routing app to keep in sync.

Which plan includes it

Beginner$99.99NoNo
Pro$199.99NoNo
Elite$299.99 (10 users)YesYes
Max$699.99 (20 users)YesYes

QuoteIQ's route optimization page says it's "available on the Elite and Max plans" and "included at no extra cost—no add-ons." Elite also includes 5,000 IQ Credits a month and ten users, with extra users at $25/user/mo.

Credit costs

Here QuoteIQ's own sources don't quite line up. The feature page says no extra cost. The help-center plan matrix says in-calendar route optimization uses IQ Credits "per leg", without publishing the rate. Our reading is that there's no add-on fee, but routing may draw on your monthly allowance. Check the credit cost the app shows before you optimize a big day; our IQ Credits guide covers how the allowance works.

How a contractor uses it day to day

Route-based businesses get the most from it. A mowing or cleaning company can use density zones to put each neighbourhood on a fixed weekday, then run Route The Day each morning to order that day's stops after any reschedules or cancellations. For a tech-based trade with a handful of jobs a day, the gain is smaller, but it still helps when a day has several stops spread across town.

QuoteIQ says "users typically report saving 15-20% on fuel". That's a vendor claim, and your result will depend on how scattered your jobs are and how you were planning routes before. Live GPS on Elite shows where crew members are while clocked in, but it's phone-based only.

Limits and gotchas

What works
  • Reorders the day's stops and shows miles saved
  • Density zones for planning recurring service days
  • Built into the calendar, no separate app
  • No add-on fee on Elite and Max
Watch out for
  • Needs Elite at $299.99/mo
  • Help center says credits are used per leg
  • Atlas lead unlocks cost extra
  • Phone GPS only, no vehicle hardware tracking

QuoteIQ is direct about GPS: "If you need to see the truck rather than the phone, we cannot help you." If a vehicle tracker matters for insurance or fleet reasons, budget for one separately.

How it compares with competitors

QuoteIQ's own GorillaDesk comparison concedes "Route optimization on Basic ($49/mo). QuoteIQ requires Elite ($299/mo) for route optimization." GorillaDesk's pricing page lists basic routing for up to 25 stops on Basic, priced per schedule or route. Our research doesn't include route optimization details from Jobber's or Housecall Pro's pricing pages, so check Jobber and Housecall Pro for which of their plans include it. Route optimization questions

Which QuoteIQ plan has route optimization?

Route optimization starts on Elite at $299.99/mo for ten users and is also on Max. It isn't available on Essentials, Beginner or Pro. Route density zones, Atlas Routing and Atlas Employees follow the same Elite-and-up rule in QuoteIQ's help-center plan matrix.

Does route optimization use IQ Credits?

Possibly. QuoteIQ's feature page says it's included at no extra cost with no add-ons, but the help-center plan matrix says in-calendar route optimization uses IQ Credits per leg, without a published rate. Elite includes 5,000 credits a month. Check the cost the app shows before optimizing during your trial.

How much fuel does QuoteIQ route optimization save?

QuoteIQ says users typically report saving 15 to 20 percent on fuel, and the tool shows miles saved for each optimized day. That's a vendor claim, not an independent test. Savings depend on how spread out your stops are and how efficiently you were already routing.

What are route density zones?

Route density zones let you plan service days by geographic cluster, grouping nearby customers onto the same day. They suit recurring-route businesses such as lawn care, cleaning and pool service, where keeping each day in one area matters over a season. They're included on Elite and Max.

Is there a cheaper option for routing?

QuoteIQ's own GorillaDesk comparison concedes GorillaDesk includes route optimization on its $49/mo Basic plan, while QuoteIQ needs Elite. GorillaDesk prices per route and caps basic routing at 25 stops. If routing is the only Elite feature you need, compare the full cost before choosing.
